Celebrity Summit

Celebrity Summit
took its first voyage on October 1, 2001.  Although this cruise ship weighs 91,000 tons, it only carries 2,032 guests at a time.  So besides simply having more space onboard, passengers are treated to a crew-to-guest ratio of 1:2, which provides an amazing experience from one horizon to another.

Celebrity Summit Entertainment

The Celebrity Theater will put on a Broadway-style show that will have you pleading for an encore.  Well, afterwards, you can have your own encore in the casino, where hopefully Lady Luck will be cheering for you.  Request one of your favorite tunes in the piano bar, Michael?s Club.  Let the tranquility of the Conservatory?s garden filled with plants and flowers arranged by floral designer, Emilio Robba, steal your heart.  For a rousing comedy or maybe a tear-jerker, catch a great movie in the Cinema and Conference Center.  These, in fact, are only a few of the many choices while on Celebrity Summit.

Celebrity Summit Activities

The Celebrity Cruise line enrichment programs allow passengers to listen to enthralling lectures, take a class in anything from cooking to wine-tasting, and join any number of activities.  Walk through ship, and you?ll also notice the selection of original works of art by painters such as Warhol and Picasso.  Stop by Online@CelebrityCruises and email your friends and family about the wonderful time you?re having.  For some quiet R&R, stop in at the music and literary library, Words and Notes.  Other diversions exist onboard as well, such as the golf simulator, the spa and fitness center, and the jogging deck.  Also, the Ship Mates Fun Factory on Celebrity Summit hosts age-specific programs for kids 3-17.

Celebrity Summit Dining

Well, there?s just no question that your taste buds will be glad you booked a cruise on Celebrity Summit.  First off, let me say a few important words: ?around-the-clock room service.?  Now that that?s covered?no matter you?re eating in your pajamas or a tuxedo, you?ll find that the cuisine onboard is exceptional.  Master Chef Michel Roux created the menus and the entr?es, and Celebrity can?t wait to share it all with you.  The Normandie Restaurant will give you an intimate and relaxed dining ambiance.  As the soft music cascades down, you?ll enjoy every minute in the Cosmopolitan Restaurant, yet another dining option.  For when only a casual atmosphere will do, guests can visit the Ocean Caf? and the Ocean Grill.  And, throughout this cruise ship, you can sample any number of buffets that dot the ship.

Celebrity Summit Accommodations

The interior is surprisingly spacious and totally stylish; at 170 square feet, there's plenty of elbow room.  The same size as the interior, but with an ample window, the ocean view stateroom sheds a little light on their cabin.  However, to really get at good look at the world as you sail by, nothing beats a having a veranda.  Try the deluxe ocean view; it is also 170 square feet inside, and with 38-sq foot balcony, you'll be able to feel sea breeze and smell the salt air.  The family stateroom is practically as big outside as it is inside: 241 square feet of balcony, 271 square feet of elegant interior.  The Celebrity suite has a whirlpool bath, sitting area, and floor to ceiling windows; however, there is no balcony.  The remaining suites, the Sky, Royal, and Penthouse, are 251-, 538-, and 1,432-square feet, respectively.  The amenities included with each suite leave their guests wanting for nothing; butler service, complimentary bathrobes, whirlpool baths, complimentary champagne, and much more.

Celebrity Summit Destinations

Until the end of April, 2005, Celebrity Summit will be hosting unbelievable cruises in the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii, Mexican Riviera, and the Panama Canal?talk about traveling!

Take a northbound or southbound 7- or 14-night Alaskan cruise.  Go salmon fishing in Ketchikan; watch a glacier as big as a skyscraper calve off of an iceberg and crash into the ocean along the Inside Passage; watch in wonder as a mother polar bear hunts for seals through the ice.  Juneau, Skagway, Sitka, and many other ports of call are on these exciting itineraries.

On a 10- or 11-night Caribbean cruise, you may get a chance to explore the natural caverns of Bridgetown, Barbados; visit the duty-free shopping haven of Phillipsburg, St. Maarten; and experience the rainforests and tropical jungles of Puerto Limon, Costa Rica.  Other stops may include Basseterre, St. Kitts; Oranjestad, Aruba; Cozumel, Mexico; and Castries, St. Lucia.  Each itinerary starts and ends in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

How ?bout a 13-, 14-, or 15-night cruise through the Hawaiian Islands?  Leave from Los Angeles, California and visit this string of jewels in the Pacific.  Stop in the ?Garden Isle of the Pacific,? Kauai, which is the northernmost and most ancient of the Hawaiian Islands (about 10 million years old).  A trip to Hawaii also includes the unbelievable destination, Honolulu, a place where natural wonders and man-made diversions make for an electric experience.

A 6-, 7-, or 10-night Mexican Riviera cruise is just what you need?no matter if you?re looking for fiestas or siestas.  You?ll leave roundtrip from Los Angeles and see Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Ixtapa (Zihuatanejo), and more.  Watersports, ancient history, zesty and spicy cuisine, sun-drenched beaches, and heart-thumping night life?the Mexican Riviera has it all.

Finally, don?t miss your chance to check out what is arguably the most important achievement in engineering in the history of civilization.  I know, sounds like a hefty title, doesn?t it?  But it?s true: commerce, travel, international finance?all of it has been deeply affected by the Panama Canal.  But all of that in itself won?t make your trip through it exciting; it?s the amazing and strikingly beautiful places along the way that will.  Travel westward or eastward through the Canal and great ports of call in the Caribbean and Mexico on either side of this great bridge between the Atlantic and Pacific.

Of course, this is just a drop in the bucket of the many ports of call and activities you can experience.  For detailed information, simply search Celebrity Summit under "Find the Best Priced Cruise" on this website, RCCreservations.com, or call 1-888-689-3940 to speak to a Cruise Specialist.
